If you have sensitive skin, you already know that fabric choice is not just about aesthetics. It is about comfort, health, and getting through the day without itching. The good news is that the same fabrics that are best for sensitive skin are also the most beautiful to work with.
Cotton: The Universal Comfort
Organic cotton is the gold standard for sensitive skin. It is breathable, hypoallergenic, soft, and gets softer with every wash. It absorbs moisture without irritating, making it comfortable in almost any climate. Every piece I make starts with cotton as the foundation.
Linen: Nature Air Conditioner
Linen is stronger than cotton, naturally antimicrobial, and incredibly breathable. It can absorb up to 20 percent of its weight in moisture before feeling damp. For summer wear, nothing beats linen against sensitive skin.
What to Avoid
Polyester, nylon, and acrylic trap heat and moisture, creating the perfect environment for irritation. Cheap dyes and chemical finishes can cause reactions even on non-sensitive skin. This is another reason to invest in quality natural materials: your skin will thank you.
Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?
— 1 Corinthians 6:19
Treating your body well includes being thoughtful about what you put on it.
